Parents and children learned about the importance of sports and balanced nutrition

Organized by Lions Club Split, Gymnastics Club Marjan and ŠKMER (Association of Chefs of Mediterranean and European Regions), with the support of the company Orgula, a socially responsible event titled “We Eat Properly and Do Gymnastics” was held at City Center One in Split. The goal was to gather the youngest participants and show them and their parents how to combine healthy nutrition and physical activity. This event also serves as an announcement of a joint project planned for next year by Lions Club Split and Orgula – a charity dinner aimed at raising funds for the diabetes department of KBC Split.

“Our mission is to encourage the community to adopt healthy habits, educate about the importance of balanced nutrition and promote spending time outdoors through play. We are aware that the foundations of healthy eating habits are established in childhood, which is why we developed Orgula Junior BIO extra virgin olive oil along with numerous related activities that promote healthier life choices. In this sense, participation in such an event is a continuation of our communication campaign and we are grateful for the opportunity to clearly demonstrate how sports and healthier nutrition can be fun,” said Nataša Jazbinšek Zekan, Operations Director of the Orgula Group.

Joint support for the future of children

For years, Orgula has sponsored Gymnastics Club Marjan (GK Marjan) because it believes in the importance of supporting the community and promoting a healthy lifestyle. This cooperation is based on a shared vision of strengthening the community through sport and health, promoting positive values in society.

“This event is important because it brings together sport and nutrition as the foundation of a healthy life. We are pleased that together with our partners we achieved a successful event that promotes physical activity and healthy nutrition. The gymnasts demonstrated their skills, and cooperation with brands that promote health is crucial for the development of young athletes and the success of associations such as Gymnastics Club Marjan,” emphasized Club President Deni Borozan.

ŠKMER from Split, an association of chefs that promotes gastronomy, gladly participates in projects that popularize the Mediterranean diet and pass on knowledge to younger generations. “Children need to learn about healthy nutrition from the earliest days. Through projects such as Orgula Junior we spread awareness about the importance of healthy food and healthy eating habits among professionals and young people. Our mission is to help build awareness of quality ingredients because we believe this will be the foundation for healthier generations. Olive oil, especially extra virgin, is crucial for the growth and development of children. We are honored to be part of this project,” stated ŠKMER President Željko Neven Bremec.

Lions Club Split, part of the global organization Lions Club International, has been operating since 1991 and brings together experts dedicated to humanitarian work. The Club promotes better understanding among people, the fight against violence and the improvement of life in the community.

“Lions Club Split is extremely proud to be part of this important project. We are especially pleased to support activities focused on the wellbeing of children because we believe it is important to invest in the future of our young people. We are happy to announce that next year, in cooperation with Orgula, we will organize a charity dinner and direct the collected funds as support to KBC Split, particularly for their Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders, in order to support their work and contribute to the health of the community,” said Pjero Zekan, Director of Orgula.
