Orgula launches Junior BIO Extra Virgin Olive Oil and CSR project

On Friday, October 13, at an event in Split, we launched our latest product, Orgula Junior BIO Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which is accompanied by a special communication campaign and a CSR project. The olive oil in question is intended for children of all ages and its unique feature is a label with a QR code. Scanning the QR code takes you to a specialized website promoting a balanced diet and development through play. At the event, we were joined by our friends and partners, Marjan Gymnastics Club and representatives of the Association of Chefs from Mediterranean and European Regions (ŠKMER).

“We know that healthy eating habits are developed in early childhood. That’s why we have made our Orgula Junior BIO Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a completely natural and delicately flavored olive oil. This isn’t just about a top-quality olive oil but inspiration as well – the Orgula Junior website has suggestions for outdoor games as well as useful advice from nutritionists and recipes. Our goal is to encourage the community to make positive changes. We also wish to educate the consumers about the importance of a balanced diet and the benefits of spending time outside, in fresh air, surrounded by nature and away from screens,” said Orgula CEO Pjero Zekan speaking at the event.

The traditional children’s games illustrated on the label of the Orgula Junior BIO bottles and described on the Junior website are passed on from generation to generation, have simple and straightforward rules, and require no special props or equipment. It is a well-known fact that children love spending time playing games, and games contribute considerably to a child’s development, including the development of their spatial awareness, movement coordination, imaginative thinking, and curiosity. Moreover, games teach children important skills and values such as patience, positive competition, and cooperation.

“The Orgula Junior project promotes a healthy development through a healthy, balanced diet and physical activity participation. Healthy habits are formed in early childhood years, and a good-quality diet and lots of physical activity are vital for children’s proper growth and development. Visit our website to find inspiration for making delicious, healthy meals, and ideas about how to motivate the children to be more active,” added Nataša Zekan, Orgula Group’s Director of Operations.

One of the partners in the development and launch of the Orgula Junior BIO Extra Virgin Olive Oil has been the Split-based ŠKMER, i.e. the Association of Chefs from Mediterranean and European Regions. Besides promoting and improving the culinary profession, organizing competitions and events, and championing culinary arts in both Croatia and abroad, they participate in various fundraisers, charity events and projects launched by associated national and foreign organizations. They have also received numerous awards from international culinary competitions, including as many as 285 medals and 42 trophies from international competitions, and 125 recognitions from culinary associations in 28 different countries.

“Since its earliest days, Split’s Marjan Gymnastics Club has been gathering enthusiasts who have put the Croatian gymnastics on the European and global stage. Over the years, we have gone to the top of the women’s sports gymnastics in Croatia. Additionally, we have never been to a national championship without being recognized with the top medals. Besides competitions, we are also known for our charity work as we are always ready to do gymnastic exhibitions. We are happy to have found a partner and friend in Orgula, as such a support has a direct impact on the club’s life. We are especially pleased to be here today, together with you, and we are glad that our junior gymnasts are here to support the Junior. We are well aware just how important a healthy and balanced diet is, along with physical activity and sports, all of which we strongly promote,” stressed Deni Borozan, Club Chairperson.

About the Junior project

The Orgula Junior project will forge ahead immediately after the product launch. To further inform and educate the consumers about the importance and advantages of the Mediterranean diet with an emphasis on olive oil, Orgula will continue to post recipes and nutritionists’ recommendations on the Junior website. By year-end, in collaboration with various interested partners, the company will also launch a fundraiser to secure funds and product donations for children with limited access to healthy foodstuffs. The activities will continue next year as well. “The goal is to promote an active lifestyle among children, educate the consumers about healthy eating habits and olive oil as an important ingredient in the Mediterranean diet, and highlight the importance of traditional children’s games. Our partners’ support in achieving these goals is vital,” added Pjero Zekan.
