In our busy lives and due to lack of time to cook, we often reach for unhealthy food and unbalanced meals. In addition, we do not spend enough time with our loved ones. We were interested in how to overcome these modern challenges, and we found a solution in – organizing our own culinary workshops for children.
Involving the child in meal preparation
Healthy eating starts with choosing the right foods. To encourage your child’s creativity and understanding of the importance of healthy eating, involve them in grocery shopping. Research recipes they want to try, then take a walk together to the market or grocery store. This approach gives children insight into meal preparation and reinforces their understanding of the importance of healthy eating.
Healthy and creative
By participating in meal preparation, the youngest can learn simple, basic recipes, understand the processes of thermal changes, and learn more about the origin and benefits of individual foods, where knowledge of nutritional values can be the foundation of healthy eating habits in children. Conversations about healthy eating can encourage children to become more aware of their food choices and understand how food affects the well-being of the body. As part of your culinary workshops, you can highlight various products that are key to a healthy and balanced diet, as well as include, for example, Orgula BIO Extra Virgin Olive Oil .
In this way, we encourage children’s curiosity and direct them to question the world around them, which ultimately results in the development of creativity. Being creative means creating, changing, trying something different, but it is necessary to have certain knowledge. If you have never fried eggs yourself, it is unlikely that you will try adding new ingredients to them or experimenting with flavors. Therefore, allow your child to explore foods (according to age and abilities and with your supervision) and participate in creating, creating a meal. When the preparation is finished, let them decorate it and thus bring additional liveliness.
Maybe a new family tradition?
Introducing a family cooking workshop can become a valuable tradition in your home. Dedicate time to quality conversation, socializing, and co-creation in the kitchen. This way, your kitchen becomes more than just a place for food preparation and turns into a center of creativity and fun.
